How Do You affirm
a commitment to diversity?
Central to Beauvoir’s philosophy of diversity and inclusion, is the annual scholarship auction. This special endeavor affirms the school’s commitment to provide funds for student scholarships. Parents, teachers, faculty, staff and friends take great effort to ensure the auction's success.
For its “Beauvoir Without Borders” auction theme, the school desired to illustrate learning in an open world. It wanted a film to express the global nature of education, reflect a diverse student body and celebrate what made Beauvoir singular.
Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School, provides early childhood education to young learners in a diverse and creative environment, nurturing a spirit of inquiry as well as a joy of learning.

Our role was to help elevate the auction spirit and inspire the audience to avidly support the scholarship program. Behind the scenes, we held extensive brainstorming sessions, keenly observed school wide student-teacher interactions and talked to people across subject areas.
Our solution portrayed Beauvoir, which is “Beautiful View” in French, through a music video that embodied the school’s nurturing, imaginative and supportive atmosphere. We captured the magical moments of school life and made a connection to Beauvoir families who wished to remove boundaries on opportunity and watch their children soar.

for a shared vision
We wrote lyrics, composed original music and recorded the final score to serve as the video’s soundtrack. Next, we filmed the community spirit of the 80-year old school with near 380 students over a four-day whirlwind schedule across all grade-levels and subject areas. This involved extensive collaboration with faculty and staff as well as parents and teachers.
After the shoot, our big challenge was to distill over ten hours of delightful footage into an engaging 4:30 minute music video. We accomplished this by combining joyful learning interactions with vibrant motion graphics linked to Beauvoir’s Life Rules of kindness, respect, responsibility and honesty. The jubilant video helped generate a standout community spirit and elevated the funding generosity of supporters.
